The source, in fact, lies on the slopes of Monte Rosa, in the Alpine area of the Biella mountains, in an uncontaminated area at an altitude of over 1,000 meters. It is totally pure, ultra-light glacier water with the lowest fixed residue in Europe (just 14 milligrams per liter).

The source from which Acqua Lauretana emerges was discovered over half a century ago by Teresio Rossello during a hike in the mountains. He submitted a sample of the water for analysis: “This water is simply exceptional”, was the reply. Further, more in-depth analyses were carried out by the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Turin, which confirmed the original verdict. The first factory was built at an altitude of about 850 meters, not far from the source. Bottling activities were launched in 1965, giving life to Acqua Lauretana, a perfect example of Italian entrepreneurship.
