Building Lagrange 12

Building S.p.a. was founded in Turin in 1983 to design, build, imagine, and invent the city and its living, industrial and commercial spaces – as well as civil, private, and leisure spaces – in Italy and abroad. Attention to detail and creativity, from the design stage up to the details and finishes, with meticulous research into architectural solutions and quality materials, embody the typical values of the Made in Italy spirit and Italian style.

The goal is to promote a new concept of living through innovation and the creation of new living spaces for commercial, private and leisure use.

Architect, Piero Boffa and his son Luca, respectively the President and CEO of Building, firmly believe in Turin’s potential and its ability to reinvent itself by looking to the future and continuing the internationalization process that started with the 2006 Olympics.

The transformation of Palazzo Valperga Galleani, a baroque jewel in Turin, located in Via Alferi not far from Piazza San Carlo, into “The Number 6” was the first step in the renovation of this historic building.

The Number 6 was heralded as “the most beautiful house in the world” by ArchDaily, winning the Building of the Year 2015 award for the restoration category. In addition to The Number 6, Building has also renovated and transformed other buildings of extraordinary historical value in Turin, such as Lagrange12, a seventeenth-century building on the corner of Via Lagrange and Via Giolitti, and Quadrato, the new restoration project of the St. Augustine convent. In partnership with FOR Engineering Architecture and Boffa Petrone & Partners, in 2017 the group oversaw the main design studies of OGR – Officine Grandi Riparazioni, which, thanks to the CTRT Foundation, have become a new contemporary research and culture hub. Recently, a project to convert Domus Lascaris, a rationalist building from the 1950s, has begun in the residential sector, with a keen focus on environmental impact.

New projects still retain the traditional focus on retail spaces. In addition to a number of shopping malls in Russia, the Group has worked on the design and construction of Settimo Cielo, the shopping mall on the outskirts of Turin and one of the largest retail parks in Italy.

Building Group’s projects enhance the city’s historic buildings by repurposing and transforming them, while also proposing a lifestyle that combines luxury residences with spaces open to the public through the collateral activities of Piero and Luca Boffa’s holding company, Gruppo Building. The company operates in a variety of areas from catering with IFSE to cosmetics with Alkemy and wellness with Alfieri6 Urban spa, plus the luxury service of Fly&Wine, a project that organizes helicopter tours of the Langhe and Roero UNESCO areas.

Lastly, the Boffa family’s lifelong love of contemporary art has fueled its current mission to sponsor cultural initiatives such as Paratissima, Art for Excellence, Luci d’Artista, and Open House Torino.

Boffa Petrone & Partners’ strength lies in its thirty-strong team of architects. Building’s enthusiasm, vision and creativity have resulted in the achievement of major milestones in the field of construction with the hallmark perfection of Italian style. Boffa Petrone & Partners is an avant-garde design firm capable of addressing a wide range of design needs, backed by research and technology. It is an example of great Italian excellence and style, combining the teachings of tradition with ongoing research in the new possibilities of innovation and technology.
