From Turin to see the world

VANNI was founded in Turin in 1987 and stems from the development of the Vitaloni family’s automotive business, which started in 1929 and focused on the production of rear view mirrors.

Sixty years later, thanks to the strength of this technical and manufacturing experience, VANNI was founded. The transition from rear view mirrors for looking backward to glasses for looking forward resulted in the VANNI brand, which stems from a seemingly simple change of perspective.

VANNI has made a name for itself in creative eyewear and eyewear design. It is now an international player in a field that is, above all, based on design as well as fashion.

VANNI opted to become a benefit corporation in 2021, establishing itself as a company that pursues the objectives of common good – beyond those of profit – in its corporate purpose. This is not just a statement of intent, but a choice that has changed corporate bylaws and requires the company to prepare an annual impact report stating what has been done to achieve these goals. Unparalleled and instantly recognizable – the essence of VANNI eyewear is captured in its exclusive materials. A unique feature in eyewear. Like a painter spreading colors on canvas, VANNI creates original textures that are transformed into exclusive cellulose acetate. A blend of manual dexterity and pinpoint precision. A hand that builds three-dimensional designs in striking colors one layer and one block at a time. VANNI eyewear is made from Italian components and raw materials, produced in Italian factories: it is certainly Made in Italy, and crafted by tapping into the best expertise and highly skilled labor in Italy.

VANNI in the city and the world of art

Recognizing where you come from is essential. Which is why the first and only VANNI showroom was opened in Turin, housed in the historical premises of Palazzo Gramsci in Piazza Carlina, in the city center, where the essence of Turin lies. The showroom is also a space for art, where VANNI’s art and design projects, created in collaboration with artists, trade fairs, and contemporary institutions have found a home. It offers a stimulus to incorporate the freedom of artistic creativity, a source of inspiration and unprecedented contaminations, into design objects. It is a place where cosmopolitan influences reign and come alive, innovating style through ties that transcend borders.
