Artissima26: THE ITALIAN JOB / Gruppo Building @ Domus Lascaris

THE ITALIAN JOB
For its 50th anniversary, the film The Italian Job becomes the protagonist of a surprising art project curated by Mark Hinchcliffe with Heidi Donohoe and produced in collaboration with Gruppo Building, which will involve Domus Lascaris, a rationalist building from the 1950s in the heart of the city that will be completely refurbished.
A bus outfitted as a tribute to the film will arrive in Turin during Artissima, and its voyage from England will activate a series of artistic performances.
The original film The Italian Job, featuring Michael Caine and released in theatres on 2 June 1969, narrates an adventurous heist in Turin.
Exhilarating plot twists and chase scenes make it captivating and unpredictable, precisely like this artistic initiative. The project perched between the worlds of art and cinema brings a surprising installation to the city.
Going beyond the national borders and challenging the exit of the UK from the EU on 31 October, the project puts the accent on art and culture.
